Shah delays return to Delhi to meet CSOs

Imphal, December 27 2020: Union Home Minister Amit Shah met office bearers of BJP and representatives of CSOs this evening delaying his return to Delhi by nearly 2 hours.

Amit Shah left Imphal at 7.25 pm .

Before his departure, a meeting of the BJP core committee was also convened.

According to reliable information, the Union Home Minister met representatives of different civil society organisations-Coordination Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI), United Naga Council (UNC), Kuki Inpi, Zeliangrong Baudi at Classic Grande after the event at Hapta Kangjeibung.

It is also reported that 6 representatives of COCOMI had appealed to the visiting Union Home Minister to grant special status to Manipur and avoid hurting the interest of communities residing here in sealing a final solution to the Naga issue.

The source also informed that Amit Shah had assured the representatives that a settlement to the "Naga issue" will not hurt the State's interest.
