India fast bowler Umesh Yadav, who had hobbled off the field while bowling his 4th over, is said to have suffered an injury on his calf during the third day of the second Test against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Melbourne on Monday.
The 33-year-old has been assessed by the BCCI medical team and has been taken for scans, the BCCI posted on their Twitter handle.

The pacer seemed to have injured his knee while bowling his fourth over which was the eighth of the Australian second innings. In the middle of a fine spell, Umesh Yadav could be seen in pain and called for attention immediately. He then soon limped back to the dressing room.
Debutant pacer Mohammed Siraj completed the eighth over. Umesh Yadav had dismissed opener Joe Burns in only his second over.
India are also missing the services of seasoned pacers Mohammed Shami and Ishant Sharma due to injuries.
As for the clash, Australia have lost four wickets for 98 and trail by 33 runs. Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah and Yadav scalped a wicket each.
Earlier, after the departure of Ajinkya Rahane and Ravindra Jadeja, the visitors started losing wickets at quick intervals and slipped from 294/6 to 326/10.
India lost five wickets for 32 runs in the morning session. The visitors have a significant first-innings lead of 131 runs.
