Asian markets close broadly on higher note amid stimulus package

Japanese Nikkei closed 197.42 points or 0.74% higher. Set Composite (0.72%) was also on the upside. SGX Nifty traded 0.89% higher while markets in Taiwan and Jakarta closed over 1% in the green.

Asian stock markets closed higher on Monday after a positive start following US President Donald Trump’s signing of a $900 billion Covid-19 aid package.
Japanese Nikkei closed 197.42 points or 0.74% higher. Set Composite (0.72%) was also on the upside. SGX Nifty traded 0.89% higher while markets in Taiwan and Jakarta closed over 1% in the green.
Korean Kospi and Shanghai Composite closed marginally higher. However, Hong Kong's Hang Seng traded 58.08 points or 0.22% lower.

Chinese stocks were subued in trade as the Government gets tough with Alibaba & Ant Financials.

US markets ended short session with gains as both Dow Jones & Nasdaq end the day near fresh new all-time highs.

Oil benchmark, Brent Crude traded 0.14% lower at USD 51.22 per barrel.
