Victoria records two new cases in hotel quarantine, no local cases

Victoria recorded two new cases of coronavirus in returned international travellers in hotel quarantine on Monday and no new cases of coronavirus in the community.

It is the 59th day that the state has been free of community transmission.

The two cases in hotel quarantine are a woman aged in her 20s and a child aged under 10, according to a release from the Department of Health and Human Services.

There are now 11 active cases of COVID-19 in Victoria. Ten of these are people in hotel quarantine and the remaining case is a teenage girl who is isolating at home after contracting the virus in NSW.

On Sunday, NSW recorded seven new locally acquired cases and an additional four cases in hotel quarantine. Six of these were directly linked to the Avalon cluster, which numbers 122.
