Legacy project: IIT-Bombay 1995 batch pledges Rs 20 crore

The silver jubilee batch of 1995 at IIT-B on Sunday pledged Rs 20.3 crore towards the legacy project. At the virtual event, 1974 batch alumnus Ashank Desai, founder-managing director of Mastek, gifted Rs 15 crore towards the Center for Policy Studies in the institute.

MUMBAI: The silver jubilee batch of 1995 at IIT-B on Sunday pledged Rs 20.3 crore towards the legacy project. At the virtual event, 1974 batch alumnus Ashank Desai, founder-managing director of Mastek, gifted Rs 15 crore towards the Center for Policy Studies in the institute.


A legacy project is adopted by the batch celebrating its silver jubilee to contribute towards the betterment of the institute and the people associated with it and leave behind their legacy.

Sunday's event was also an e-reunion for Ruby (1980 batch) and Pearl (1990 batch) Jubilee alumni. In the virtual reality celebrations, personalised avatars of alumni got distinguished service and chapter service awards from the avatar of IIT-B director Subhasis Chaudhuri.
