All 23 police stations in the Aurangabad district of Maharashtra will soon have women beat marshals. A total of 37 women beat marshals are being trained in police work in terms of new responsibilities.
The newly appointed woman, Beat Marshall, said that this would enable women in rural areas to share their concerns more easily with police constables. Shobha Dandage of Kannada Rural Police Station told, "We will go on patrolling at night and will be trained for this work."
Superintendent of Police Mokshada Patil said, "Our plan is to teach these beat marshals how to drive and provide them vehicles so that they can reach the rural parts of Aurangabad."
