Rae Bareli, Dec 27(UNI) Union minister Smriti Irani has hit out at the Congress and alleged that the party had always promoted cow slaughter.

Reacting on the march of the UP Congress leaders over bad conditions of cows at the shelter homes in Bundelkhand region, Ms Irani ,who was listening to PM's Maan Ki Baat at Hajipur village under Deh block, told reporters on Sunday that in Kerala, the Congress leaders advertised the slaughter of cows but here in UP they are shedding crocodile tears.

" This is the double standard of the Congress and people should be aware of it," she said.

Ms Irani said people know how BJP was working for the people and providing them all type of facilities and benefits.

UP Congress has brought out save cow march in Bundelkhand region on Saturday in order to make people aware and the government about the bad condition of the cows at the government run shelter homes.

Ms Irani , who was on a three days visit to her Amethi parliamentary constituency, had inaugurated projects worth over Rs 80 crores there.
