This can be a problem in severe cold
In its latest impact-based advisory, the Meteorological Department has said that from December 28, a 'severe' cold wave is expected to occur in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and North Rajasthan and during this time there will be problems like flu, colds, nose bleeding. There are apprehensions and for those who are struggling with such problems, due to prolonged cold, their troubles will also increase.
It is said in the consultation, do not drink alcohol. This lowers your body temperature. It says, stays indoors. Eat fruits containing vitamin C, keep your skin soft so as to avoid the effects of bitter cold.
Kuldeep Srivastava, head of the meteorological department's regional forecast center, said fresh western disturbances in the upper part of the Himalayas would cause some increase in temperature on Sunday and Monday, but this relief would be short-lived.
Fresh snowfall is forecast in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand due to western disturbances. The Meteorological Department says that after the disturbance ends, the cold and dry westerly wind will come from the western Himalayas, causing the minimum temperature to fall in northern India and it will be between three to five degrees Celsius.
The department has said that cold wave conditions are likely to be severe in different parts of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, and northern Rajasthan by 28-29 December. There is a possibility of frost and thick fog in many areas of these states.
For the plains, the Meteorological Department has predicted a cold wave, during which the maximum temperature can go down to 10 degrees and the minimum temperature can go below 4.5 degrees. A severe cold wave occurs when the minimum temperature goes up to two degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature drops to 6.4 degrees Celsius.
