ICC World Test Championship Finals Race — IND vs AUS 2nd Test: The battle for the World Test Championship has intensified as 3 Test Matches are currently in progress. While India is playing Australia in the second Test in Melbourne, South Africa is facing the challenge of visiting Sri Lanka team in the first Test at Centurion Park and New Zealand is batting with Pakistan at Bay Oval. As per the current WTC standings, Australia, are the No. 1 after change in regulations from maximum points to percentage points. Australia currently has 0.835 percentage points.

How India can make it to WTC Finals ? India are on 0.705 playing their fifth series and in danger of losing more points after a forgettable loss in the opening match in Australia. India should draw at least 2 games to keep their hopes alive for place in the WTC Finals. A 4-0 loss to Australia can completely dent their chances to play the finals of inaugural World Test Championship Cycle.  
 
New Zealand has now emerged as a new contender for place in the WTC Finals. Kiwis has a good chance to boost their place in the WTC Finals. They are currently placed at third with 0.625 pct points and could go up to 0.700 if they can whip up another 2-0 win. 
 
Furthermore, they can overtake India, depending on the results in the Australia vs India Test series. However, a 1-1 draw would reduce them to 0.600 points and a 2-0 loss to 0.500.

Meanwhile, Pakistan will be eyeing to improve their current 0.3395 pct points with a chance to go up to 0.529 in their fifth series. 
 

In South Africa vs Sri Lanka Test series, while the Proteas are fighting for prestige, the Lions will be bidding to improve their pct points from 0.100 after two series which saw them lose 3-1 to England and 3-0 to India respectively.

Sri Lanka are on 0.333 percentage points after two series – they lost 1-0 to Pakistan and drew 1-1 with New Zealand – but could go up to 0.555 with a 2-0 win or down to 0.222 with a loss by the same margin.
