Gangtok, Dec 27 (UNI) A major coronavirus outbreak came to light in Sikkim State Jail after 100 tested positive for the infection while 13 others across the hill state were also found Covid-19 positive.
Active cases mounted to 517 after 113 new cases surfaced in the last 24 hours, said Sonam Bhutia, state Information,Education and Communication (IEC) member.
Out of 5799 total cases registered, 5063 have been discharged so far on recovery.
The Covid-19 death toll remained at 125 as no new deaths were recorded, he added.
