Hyderabad, Dec 26 (UNI) In a dip in day's tally,Telangana added 317 new coronavirus cases until 2000 hours on Friday taking the total number of COVID-19 infections in the state to 2,84,391 so far.
With two more patients succumbing to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours the state's cumulative death toll rose to 1,529 till date translating a case fatality rate of 0.53 per cent
as against the countrywide mortality rate of 1.4 per cent,a state health department bulletin said on Saturday.
A total of 536 people have recovered from coronavirus statewide between Thursday and
Friday pushing the overall recoveries thus far 2,76,244 constituting a recovery rate of 97.13 per cent while the national recovery rate was 95.8 per cent.
The active coronavirus cases in the state now stood at 6,618 including 4,535 individuals in home or institutional isolation,the bulletin said.
In all,30,376 samples have been tested to detect the contagious virus in the state during
the past 24 hours out of which the results of 384 swab samples were awaited.
Since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic,66,86,363 COVID-19 tests have been
carried out in the state thus far.
Among the states,the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation contributed a maximum of 71 coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours followed by Rangareddy (27),Medchal Malkajgiri (25),Sangareddy (17),Karimnagar (16),Mancherial,Nalgonda and Warangal Urban 11 cases each.
The day's remaining coronavirus cases were reported from other districts,the bulletin added.
