LUCKNOW: A woman and her three children died in a fire that broke out under mysterious circumstances at her residence in Saturday noon in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. The deceased were identified as- Sangeeta Yadav 35, her children-Anjali 09, Ashish 06, and Chhoti 03.
Police said bodies of all the four victims were recovered from the under constructed house which was reduced to ashes in Marka police station area of the district.
The incident came to light after locals from Dubeypurwa spotted flames emanating from the house belonging to one Sangeeta Yadav and then informed the police. Two fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot after the information and doused the flames.
Additional superintendent of police, Banda, Mahendra Pratap Chauhan, told newsmen that exact reason for the outbreak of fire could not be ascertained as yet.
"Four bodies have been recovered from the house that were buried under the debris and have been sent for the post-mortem,” he said. The fire tenders took control of the fire in 30 minutes, said the officer.
Police circle officer, Baberu, Anjani Pandey who supervised fire-fighting operations in the village, told TOI that the identities of the bodies were ascertained by the relatives and villagers.
