Best beauty Instagrams of the week: Kylie Jenner and Malaika Arora

For makeup and hairstyle looks that are toned down, or dramatic and turned all the way up for the party season, Instagram is the perfect place to gather inspiration. Here are some of our favourite beauty moments from social media over the last week. 

The party season calls for fun hair colours, according to Kylie Jenner and Mira Rajput Kapoor

With salons now opening, celebrities have been excited to switch up or enhance their hair colour to meet the moment. Mira Rajput Kapoor added highlights that play up the sun-kissed area of her face. Parted in the centre and styled in soft, brushed out waves, her textured blend of blonde and brown strands stood out and served as the perfect seasonal refresh. Shilpa Shetty Kundra went with babylights, picking a warm blonde on thin pieces of her strands to warm up her skin tone and add dimension to her hair. Elsewhere, Kylie Jenner switched from her regular colourways that include caramel, an inky black and a dark brown to a dark wine-like red from root to tip. “Ariel who?” she wrote on Instagram. Kim Kardashian West lightened up her hair too, choosing an ashy cool bronde shade rather than the warm highlights she usually relies on. 

Malaika Arora and Karisma Kapoor accentuated their favourite feature with bold makeup

Whether you're just painting on a bold red lip, or drawing on a colourful cat eye, picking one feature you want to bring focus to is a fool-proof way to experiment with your makeup. Not sure how to do it right? Look to Malaika Arora, who wore a black cat eye and then added on an inky blue eyeliner on top. Mascara–on the top and bottom lashes—added to the look. Karisma Kapoor didn't wear any other makeup, but her red lipstick? That stayed right on. Samantha Akkineni wore a matte pink lip and lots of mascara, but the feature she really accentuated were her cheekbones, which were covered in a swathe of a creamy highlighter.
