Four top militants of the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) surrendered at police headquarters with weapons on Thursday. Director-General of Police VS Yadav said that with the problem of food and money, they were not getting any support.
The surrendered militants have been identified as the organization's self-styled Deputy Chief Kukila Tripura alias Yarung, Assistant Foreign Secretary Ratan Kalai alias Reuben, Assistant Organizing Secretary Joy Instrument Jamatia alias Zara, and Information Secretary Madhu Ranjan alias Yang.
He has also collected two AK-47s, a bayonet, four magazines, 119 cartridges, a wireless handset, and 1.50 lakh kyat (Myanmar currency). The banned organization is headquartered in Bangladesh.
