Imphal, December 24 2020: Manipuri Students' Federation (MSF) today disposed 5 bags of betel leaves seized from an Eeco Van allegedly coming from the airport.

Oinam Premdas, secretary of Affairs on Drug Prevention, MSF said people involved in the transport of the betel leaves are Manager of Kanglei Transport, Tomba, Raju, Boinao, Ranjit, Guru, Angou and Angomcha.

Oinam Premdas said that even when the condition of COVID-19 pandemic has reached such a critical stage, some selfish people are trying to earn profit from selling such items which will only harm the society.

Despite non-stop effort from MSF and other CSOs to prevent import of such items, people have always found ways to continue such activities.

He said MSF will continue the crackdown on such activities and will take up strict action against them.

MSF also urged the people to support the activities of MSF to save the State from drugs and intoxicants.
