The government eye on the Supreme Court in the farmers' agitation case

The central government is now eyeing the Supreme Court in the Kisan agitation case. The government's plan is to continue to offer constant dialogue with farmer organizations and to continue the campaign in favor of agricultural laws in the meantime. The government wants to convey the message that farmers' organizations are not getting ready for talks. The re-offer of talks on Thursday by the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture is part of this strategy.

Highly placed sources said that the government will not come under pressure under any circumstances. There is no question of a legal guarantee of minimum support price (MSP) and withdrawal of the law. Since the Supreme Court also insisted on negotiations during the hearing of the case. In such a situation, the government is now eyeing the hearing of the top court in this matter after the winter vacation. Meanwhile, the government will offer continuous interaction with farmers' organizations and will also continue its campaign in support of these laws across the country.

Everything in the court is not in favor of the government

The government hopes to resolve the dispute through a hearing in the Supreme Court, but it is not that everything here is in favor of the government. In this case, the Supreme Court suggested the government to postpone the three new laws till the negotiations continue. The court expressed its concern expressing the possibility of the movement becoming a national issue. However, the apex court also continuously emphasized the negotiations during this time.

Nothing new in the new letter too

There is nothing new in the new letter of the Joint Secretary. As before, the government has talked to farmers' organizations on every issue. The government has termed the demand for legal guarantees on the MSP, the main contentious issue, as unreasonable. However, on the demand for withdrawal of the law, nothing has been said from the government in this letter. The letter mentions the assurances given by the government during earlier talks.

Preparations to face the growing controversy

Due to persistence on the main issues, there is a possibility of disputes between the government and agitated farmer organizations. However, the government is fully prepared to face such a situation. Government sources say that withdrawal of law and demand for a legal guarantee on MSP will not be accepted under any circumstances. While the farmers' organization is not ready to negotiate on anything less.

List of supporting organizations prepared

Meanwhile, the government has prepared a list of farmer organizations supporting the new agricultural laws and willing to negotiate. Their number is more than a hundred. The government is making a separate list of farmer organizations having better effects from these. Sources say that there may be talks with pro-law and farmer organizations willing to negotiate. But before this, the government will wait for the future stance of agitating farmers' organizations.

The government is relieved due to the non-expansion of the movement

The farmers' movement has been going on for the last about a month. Earlier, the government feared that the scope of the movement might increase. However, this movement is still mainly confined to Haryana, Punjab, and West Uttar Pradesh. The government on its part had made a strategy to not allow the scope of this movement to expand and limit it to Punjab.
