1 held for illegal sand mining

The police nabbed one Gurdeep Singh, alias Deepa, a resident of Mand Chaunta village while he was coming from the Sutlej bundh towards the village in a tractor-trailer laden with illegally mined sand. The police impounded the sand, the tractor-trailer and booked the accused under Sections 379 of the IPC and Section 21 of Mining and Minerals Act.

2 arrested for theft

The police have arrested two men involved in stealing money of persons travelling in auto-rickshaws.The arrested persons were identified as Harwinder Singh, a resident of Ghuddu Patti of Rauli village in Moga and his accomplice Dev Raj, a resident of Nehru Park, Moga. The duo has been charged under Sections 379/34 of the IPC. Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Labour Colony, had lodged a complaint with the police that two persons had stolen Rs 1,400 from the pocket of his pant while he was going from the bus-stand towards Bharat Nagar Chowk in a three-wheeler yesterday. In the course of the investigation, the police nabbed the accused s and also recovered Rs 1,200 from them.

The police have booked unknown persons under Sections 454/380/427 of the IPC for the theft of one Samsung Smaller Cell-2 MW Radio and power cables from a Jio mobile tower installed in the house of Mandeep Singh, a resident of Street No. 3 in Iqbal Nagar here on the night of December 21. The theft was reported to the police by an employee of the company Sachin Kumar, a resident of Mohali.

Car stolen

Satinder Singh, resident of Preet Nagar in Shimlapuri has reported theft of his Tata Indica car (PB-10CJ-4415) from outside his house on the night of November 11, 2020. The complainant suspected that the car was stolen by Vishal, resident of Indra Colony and David, resident of Preet Nagar. Police have registered a case under sections 379/34 IPC and were investigating.
