Christmas celebrations in the UK have gone for a toss after prime minister Boris Johnson recently announced tier 4 restrictions in London. The alarm was raised after it was identified that a new strain of the Novel Coronavirus was responsible for the surge in Covid cases. Under tier 4, non-essential, entertainment and leisure venues have been closed. Residents have been allowed to visit those in their support bubble. As per support bubble guidelines, one person is allowed to meet with another person outside but households are not allowed to mix. Tier 4 residents who need to travel for education or childcare have been exempt from the ‘stay home’ mandate. Similar rules apply for upcoming Christmas celebrations. Households are not allowed to meet up, one person can take a walk with another person from their support bubble.
