Noida: No upkeep of Sector 51 parks, officials told

NOIDA: Officials of the Noida Authority on Thursday visited parks in Sector 51 following several complaints from residents regarding a lack of maintenance. The RWA apprised them of pending repair and upkeep work in the green zones.
Besides cleaning of green belts, installation of lights, raising the height of boundary wall of C and D block parks, residents demanded repair of broken tracks, benches and dustbins for the parks.
“Today, deputy director of the authority, Anand Mohan Singh, and inspector KP Singh inspected the parks and green belts to resolve our issues,” said Sanjeev Kumar, general secretary, Sector 51 RWA.The residents also demanded installation of boards informing prohibited and illegal activities in the park.
Other issues raised include installation of lights, soft (kuccha) track in C, D and E block green belts, repair of swings and fountains, regular watering of grass and routine maintenance.
The RWA had written a letter to CEO Ritu Maheshwari on December 23 apprising her of missing grass in some parks and other issues. Kumar also lamented that contractors engaged by the authority submit bills without carrying out any work.
“Dustbins are full of garbage. There is not even a single bench to sit in the parks. The trees are ill-maintained and the grass is not watered. No seasonal flowers are also planted,” he added. While deputy director Singh assured speedy resolution on all matters, the RWA demanded action against the contractors.
