In the UK, a new form of the Coronavirus and due to which people coming back to India, infections are now getting faster. In the last 3 days, more than two dozen passengers have been found infected at different airports during the investigation.
Investigations of all the people who have come to India since November 25, 50 cases came up
According to sources, 50 such Corona positives have been found so far in Maharashtra, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, and Karnataka which came to India 2 weeks ago. Whereas the number of infected patients between December 21 and 23 is different from them.
In all, 80 people have been found corona infected so far, whose samples have been sent to different labs for genome sequencing. The Union Health Ministry has recently mandated the investigation of all those who came to India from 25 November to 23 December.
Sources in the Union Health Ministry said that those who have returned from the UK two weeks ago and reached their homes from different metros. They too are now getting infected.
The latest example is from Nagpur and Chennai in Maharashtra, where two students have been infected just 16 days after returning to India, while the isolation period for corona infection is only 14 days. A senior official has even reported that being infected after more than a period of isolation, it is feared that these people may suffer from a new strain because the new strain found in the UK can remain in the human body for 28 days.
Genome sequencing started in CCMB
Dr. Rakesh Mishra, director of Hyderabad-based CCMB, said that he has started genome sequencing of samples for travelers coming from the UK, reaching the sample from many states including Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana. However, due to the time taken in this process, the results are not yet known.
The youth returned to Nagpur suspected of a new form of Corona
A 28-year-old youth, who returned to Nagpur from Britain on November 29, is suspected of having a new British Corona strain. Superintendent of Government Medical College, Nagpur, Dr. Avinash Gawande said that the infection has been confirmed in the youth on 15 December. He was investigated at the airport from which his report was negative.
Seven days later symptoms started appearing in the young man and his ability to hear was affected along with the youth and his family members have also been found infected. The youth's stress sample has been sent to Pune. Whose report it will be known if there is a UK strain in it.
At the same time, Tamil Nadu Health Secretary Jai Radhakrishnan said that the corona returned from the UK in the state has been sent to Pune for a sample genomic analysis and sent to the National Institute of Virology, Pune. It will be reported by next week or 28 December. This will clarify whether the coronavirus strain found in the country has arrived or not.
Virus found in nine crew members of Britain
2724 people who returned to Tamil Nadu from 25 November to 23 December from Britain or via Britain are under surveillance. The infection has been confirmed in a foreign youth and is being treated at the Kings Institute.
Samples of 15 people present in Delhi, Chennai, and connecting flights with the young man have been taken for examination. The other 70 people have been asked to conduct investigations. At the same time, the virus has been found in nine crew members of a cargo plane from Britain. It is suspected that there may be a new strain.
11 infected in Goa
Coronavirus has been confirmed among 11 passengers who returned to Goa after 9 December from Britain. Health Minister Rane said that 979 people are under investigation. The health department has been looking for 602 people who have come to Goa from the UK and UAE.
Separate ward in Delhi
After getting a new corona strain in Britain, the Delhi government has made a separate arrangement for those returning from there. A separate isolation unit has been prepared at Loknayak Hospital for those coming to India from Britain in the last 4 weeks.
