Imphal, December 24 2020: Kanglei Indigenous Martial Arts and Cultural Society (KIMACS) has warned of agitation if the Government doesn't implement the assurance to recruit Thang-Ta teachers by January 15 .

Speaking to media persons at its office at Palace Compound, KIMACS' secretary, Th Suraj Meitei said that the Government should discuss the matter on recruitment of Thang-Ta teachers during a Cabinet meeting and convert the assurance given earlier into action by January 15 .

Suraj said that KIMACS has been demanding the Government to recruit necessary and required teachers for Thang-Ta discipline in Government schools since 2018 .

The body had launched several agitations and 27 of its members were arrested.

After an agreement was reached with the Government, the 27 members were released and following this the Government had formulated rules and regulations for recruitment of Thang-Ta teachers, he said.

The Government should discuss the matter in the Cabinet meeting and expedite the recruitment process at the earliest.

If the Government fails to act positively by January 15, KIMACS will launch intense agitation, Suraj said.
