Justice DY Chandrachud, a Supreme Court judge and chairman of the e-committee, has emphasized the need to create accessible infrastructure including a digital ecosystem.

At the same time, he spoke of enabling physically disabled or differently-abled lawyers and litigants to join the legal profession like other lawyers. About this, he has written a letter to the Chief Justices of the High Court of the country.

Justice Chandrachud stated that there is an urgent need for accessible infrastructure, including a digital ecosystem and which helps physically disabled lawyers-litigants to participate in the legal profession equally. He said, Article 14 of the Constitution of the country has the right to equality and under Article 19 (1) (g) everyone has the right to take training in the profession of choice.

He said that all the documents, including the court's decision, should be in the e-pub so that they can be read with the help of an e-book app or optical character reader. He said that the high courts should consider issuing decisions in HTML format on their websites along with PDF.
