Ganderbal attack:CRPF jawan succumbs

Srinagar, Dec 24 (UNI) A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan, who was critically injured in a grenade attack by militants in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, succumbed on Thursday.

Official sources said that three CRPF jawans were injured when militants lobbed a grenade towards a CRPF bunker at Towheed Chowk Dadarhama in Ganderbal at around 1700 hrs. “The injured were immediately taken to a local hospital from where they were referred to S K Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Soura,” they said.

After battalion for his life for over 24 hours, the CRPF jawan, identified as Constable Mritunjoy, succumbed at SKIMS on Thursday.
