ET BureauNew Delhi: To mark the Prime Minister’s announcement of the transfer of 18000 crore into bank accounts of nine crore farmers, BJP will hold a simultaneous programme across the country to reach out to the farmers.
BJP general secretary Arun Singh told reporters that the party is organising programmes at 19,000 places across the country from the block and Panchayat level up.
Around one crore farmers and supporters are likely to watch the Prime Minister’s speech. The party is aiming at reaching out to around five crores farmers through this effort.
Arrangements have been made by the party for watching the virtual telecast. The party programme will start an hour before the PM’s speech at noon.
Union ministers, chief ministers of BJP ruled states, deputy chief ministers, party office-bearers from the central to the district level will attend these gatherings and educate the people of the various farmer welfare measures taken by the Narendra Modi government over the years. Singh said this includes doubling MSP to farmers, PM-KISAN, crop insurance schemes, providing neem coated urea and so on.
