Haryana health minister
Anil Vij, who tested positive for
Covid-19 on December 15 and was shifted from
PGIMS Rohtak to
Medanta on Tuesday, was shifted on Wednesday from the
ICU to a
Covid ward after his condition improved.
“Vij will be kept under observation. Doctors are hopeful that he remains stable on oxygen through the nasal cannula,” said Dr A K Dubey, medical superintendent, Medanta.
Meanwhile, 110 people tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday, taking the city’s caseload to 56,095. The health department said 156 patients also recovered on the day, bringing the total number of recoveries to 54,460. Gurgaon has now a recovery rate of 94.2%. No causality was reported. So far, 341 people in the city have died of Covid, of whom 264 had comorbidities.
The city currently has 1,294 active cases, and 1,166 of the patients are in home isolation. On Wednesday, eight people were sent to institutional quarantine facilities. So far, 6,35,456 people have been put under surveillance in Gurgaon.
In the past 24 hours, the health authorities collected 4,221 samples for antigen and
RT-PCR tests. So far, 6,31,870 samples have been sent for testing so far, out of which 5,71,554 returned negative while the results of 3,971 are awaited.
