Nearly 1,300 Portuguese customers ask to end telecom contracts due to Covid-19

In the period from March to September 2020, a total of 4,196 customers of telecommunications services requested the suspension or termination of contracts due to loss of income as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to a report by Portugal's National Communications Authority (Anacom). The rate of acceptance of these request was 89 percent, ranging between 77 percent and 100 percent depending on the operator. The main operators received 1,296 requests for unilateral termination of contract, of which 1,202, or 92.7 percent, were granted.
