Axtel ends process to sell Alestra and Axnet units

Wednesday 23 December 2020 | 12:11 CET | News
Mexican operator and ICT services provider Axtel said it has ended a process begun in October to sell its services unit, Alestra, and its infrastructure division, Axnet, after failing to agree terms with bidders for both units. The company's owner Grupo Alfa said it had received a two-digit number of non-binding proposals but the valuation "did not reflect the intrinsic value or potential of the two business units". It now intends to reestablish contact with investors who have shown interest in one of the units while exploring other ways of maximising value for current shareholders.
