Since May, when the Vande Bharat Mission was launched, the repatriation exercise has flown over 15 lakh people
The Centre started the ‘Vande Bharat Mission’ on May 6 to help those stranded due to the novel coronavirus pandemic reach their destinations via international repatriation flights.
According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, 12,047 repatriation flights were operated by the Air India Group under the Vande Bharat Mission till December 21, carrying over 15.88 lakh passengers. Of these, 6,021 were inbound flights carrying 9,79,195 passengers and 6,026 were outbound flights with 6,08,885 fliers.
The mission is currently in Phase 7 which will continue until March 28, 2021.
