Mass inoculation held

Imphal, December 22 2020: Manipur Dog Lovers Club and State Veterinary Department organised a mass inoculation programme today at Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai following the death of a Rottweiler in a suspected case of rabies.

Around 300 domesticated cats and dogs at Haobam Marak Ngangom Leikai were inoculated at the programme.

Moirangthem Naoba, secretary Manipur Dog Lovers Club, said the autopsy of the deceased Rottweiler was being done at the State Veterinary Department and a report was awaited.

However the doctors suspected a case of rabies.

He added that local clubs in the area informed Manipur Dog Lovers Club about the incident and they organised the mass inoculation programme to prevent any outbreak.

He also requested everyone who has pet dogs or cats to get their pets vaccinated at the nearest veterinary hospitals.
