Himachal HC stays election notification for Pradhan polls in Chopal block; Defers hearing for tomorrow

Shimla, Dec 22 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday deferred the hearing civil writ petition which challenged the election process for Gram Pradhan elections in three developmental blocks including Dharmpur of Mandi district, Chopal, Totu and Theog of Shimla etc.
The matter was listed before the division bench of justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan) and Jyotsna Rewal Dua deferred the hearing for tomorrow. The court hearing the case through video conferencing passed one-page order today as it heard the case in the part.
The court said that hearing would continue tomorrow meanwhile, the bench modified its Dec 18 order which had stayed the operation of the entire notification directing that stay is granted to extent that operation of notification in Chopal Block.
Now all the three petitions listed before the same bench tomorrow, the orders said. The bench also heard to other similar petition today but did not pass any order.
While issuing election notification for Panchayati Raj rural bodies election on Monday state Election commission decided to not issue notification for Gram Panchayat Pradhan election in all development block of Shimla district and party of Dharmpur block of Mandi district as the above petitions are pending and stayed by the court on December 19.
