Farmers' protest against new farm laws enters 27th day

New Delhi, Dec 22 (UNI) As the farmers' protest against the Centre's three new farm laws at Delhi's periphery entered 27th day on Tuesday, leaders of the farmers' unions are likely to meet during the day to discuss about their next plan of action.

At Ghazipur border, both carriageways are closed for traffic movement owing to farmers' protests.

Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait has reiterated that the farmers

will not go back until the Centre withdraws the three new farm laws.

Farmers' organisations, protesting against the Centre's three new farm laws, held a day-long 'relay' hunger strike on Monday near the borders of the National Capital.

Meanwhile, the government on Sunday once again had sent a proposal to the farmers' organisations

for talks and requested them to explain the issues and time.

The agitation and the five rounds of talks are discussed in detail in a letter sent by the Ministry of

Agriculture to 40 farmer organisations.

The proposal that the Government has made to amend the farm laws to farmer organisations has

also been mentioned.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Traffic Police has said that due to ongoing protest, the Singhu, Auchandi, Piau Maniyari, and Mangesh borders are closed.
