NATIONAL SUMMARY
Mild air surging northward into the eastern Great Lakes
ahead of a cold front will promote rain showers in eastern
Iowa, Illinois and Indiana tomorrow. Farther south, a
steadier rain with embedded thunder is expected in eastern
Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. In the colder air, snow
will blanket the eastern Dakotas, Minnesota, northern and
central Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
Strong winds will buffet the region and cause blowing and
drifting of the snow. In South Dakota, Nebraska and northern
Kansas, winds may be locally damaging. A tranquil day is
expected up and down the East Coast. Precipitation will also
be absent in all areas west of the Rocky Mountains.
