PM Kisan Yojana goof up in Palghar

Palghar, Dec 21 (UNI) In a major goof up an excess whooping sum of Rs. 2.31 crores has been paid to the farmers from the predominantly tribal Palghar district has been made under the PM KISAN Yojana of the Central Government it has been revealed. The district collectorate has in an official release stated on Monday that the recovery process has been already started to recover the excess payment made to the farmers.

The release said the district collector has directed the farmers who have received these payments should return the money so received by them.

The government has directed 1773 farmers from the district who were not not eligible to receive the money and who had received it in 4617 instalments to refund a total amount of Rs. 92,34,000 paid to them. A total of 239 farmers have already refunded a sum of Rs. 22,66,000 received by them in 1131 instalments to the government.

Also a total of 1463 farmers from the district paying income tax have received a total of Rs.13852000 in 6926 instalments and they have also been ordered to refund the amount. So far a total 187 farmers who had received a sum of Rs. 17,96,000 in 904 instalments have refunded the same.

The collector Dr. Manik Gursal has asked the balance farmers who are not not eligible to receive the amounts and have received the same to refund the same to the government.

So far a total of 426 farmers have refunded a total sum of Rs. 40,62,000 received by them in 2035 instalments which works out to only17.60% refund. Still 82.40% amount is to be recovered which has been paid excess to the farmers who had received it being not not eligible and Income tax paying farmers.

The government has also ordered the physical verification of a total of 5501 beneficiary farmers under the PM Kisan scheme and already the physical verification of 2049 farmers is complete and a total of 3452 is still pending.

The release also said that the district collector has ordered the local tehsildars, bdos and Taluka Agricultural officials to complete the verification process on priority.

One killed in accident in Nashik

Nashik, Dec 21 (UNI) One person was killed and another injured when an unidentified vehicle dashed to bike at Gonde Shivara in Sinnar taluka on Nashik-Pune highway on Sunday Midnight
According to Vavi police said today, the deceased identified as Gyaneshwar Narhari Singer (41) resident Malunje village, Taluka Igatpuri. Dnyaneshwar Gaikar and Sandeep Bandu Raikar (30) of Malunje village in Igatpuri taluka were going to Sangamner on a two-wheeler . On Sunday midnight, an unidentified vehicle hit his two-wheeler coming from behind on a speed bump near Samrudh Highway in Gonde Shivar. Gaikar died in the accident and Sandeep was injured and he is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
