TSE owner reaches out to 11 households with water tanks

Imphal, December 21 2020: Continuing his charitable work to help economically weaker families, owner of The Sangai Express, Nishikant Singh Sapam presented one 500 litre water storage tank each to 11 families from across 10 localities today.

The Sangai Express owner is also eyeing to reach out to 84 families with similar help within a period of one month.

The water storage tanks were formally distributed to the households by the donor himself in a programme organised by Tengbang Marup, Keishamthong at Anoubam Mandap, Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai.

The beneficiaries who received the water tanks include Samurailatpam Guni Devi from Irom Pukhri Mapan, Yanglem Luxmi Devi from Nganappi Thong Mapan, Lourembam Tombi Devi from Keishamthong Hodam Leirak, Chingri from Kwakeithel Moirang Purel, Chongtham Chandrabala Devi from Keishampat Thiyam Leikai, Kangabam Melu Devi from Keishampat Kangabam Leikai, Leishangthem Rastrapati Devi from Khagempalli Panthak, Longjam Suchitra Devi from Keishamthong Longjam Leikai, Thokchom Hemolata Devi from Keishampat Leimajam Leikai, Gurumayum Khomdonbi Devi from Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai and Wangkhem Ibengoubi Devi of Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai.

Speaking at the occasion, the owner of The Sangai Express said that the tanks were distributed to the families through Tengbang Marup in line with his endeavour to help needy families.

He, with the Tengbang Marup, will be happy to extend any other feasible mode of help, if anyone needs it, he continued.

The Tengbang Marup is constituted by 15 women members (belonging to economically backward families) from each locality (Leikais), he said while asserting that the beneficiaries of the free water storage tank distribution scheme were selected through a draw of lots held twice a month.

The Tengbang Marup is also expecting- to cover 630 beneficiaries when the scheme concludes, he said.

Meira Paibi secretary of Irom Pukhri Mapan, Oinam Asangbi during the programme, said that such a scheme is a very commendable approach to help the poverty stricken families.

The president of Keishampat Thiyam Leikai Development Committee, Ch Iboyaima, in the meantime, said that the initiatives of the Tengbang Marup and donor, Niskhikant are extremely praiseworthy.

The help extended by the Tengbam Marup will certainly help empower women of the region and the tanks provided today will bring relief to water storage issues faced earlier by the beneficiary families, he continued.
