Know here how deadly is the new strain of coronavirus found in Britain, what is known

In the UK, a new strain of the coronavirus is spreading rapidly among people. It first surfaced in southeastern England in September. Which has very rapidly engulfed other areas of Britain. Let us know how different this new type of coronavirus is compared to the previous virus and how deadly it can be.

What is virus mutation?

Virus mutation means a change in the genetic chain of the virus. SARS is a COV-2 single RNA virus. Mutations refer to a change in the order in which the arrangement of the molecules occurs. Mutations in RNA viruses often occur when the virus makes a mistake in copying itself.

Not in India yet

Indian scientists say that they have not seen this strain in India. At the moment there is no need to worry about it and it has reached only a few countries. Scientists associated with the Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology analyze that several thousand SARSOV-2 virus genomes are in public life in India. There is no indication that the mutations found in the UK have any similarity with the ACE-2 receptor (the human protein with which the virus binds the spike protein). It has not yet been proven that there are clinical and immunological effects at the moment.

Spike protein is important

The coronavirus binds human proteins to initiate the process of spike protein infection. Changes can therefore affect, such as, how much the virus has the ability to infect, or whether it causes a serious illness or impairs the immune response to the vaccine. However, these are only theoretical concerns at the moment.

The vaccine will not be neutralized

Many coronavirus vaccines target antibodies to spike proteins and produce antibodies. But the vaccine spike targets multiple regions of the protein, while mutations change at just one point. So if there is a mutation, it does not mean that the vaccine will not work.

In this way, understand the new mutation of the virus

UK researchers have identified the new mutation as N501Y. According to UK Health Secretary Matt Hancock, UK researchers have detected mutations of the virus in 11 hundred people from 60 local areas. Consortium forced-19 is tracking genomics mutations. According to Prof. V Ravi, who was the head of NeuroVirology at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Science Bangalore, there is a possibility of a change in the spike protein. A single nucleotide change in a portion of the spike protein has occurred, so there will be no effect on disease and prognosis.

Airlines want to stop 50% at present

After the new strain of Coronavirus has surfaced, many countries including India have banned the movement of aircraft to Britain. In such a situation, the community internet media platform Local Circles got to know the views of people on the flights. In which it was revealed that 50 percent currently want to stop the airlines from the affected countries. The survey was conducted on about seven thousand people from 202 districts of the country.

Have mandatory quarantine

In the survey, 41 percent believed that passengers coming from affected countries such as Britain, South Africa, Netherlands, Denmark, and Australia should be sent on a mandatory 14-day quarantine. While 50 percent has asked the affected countries to ban the airlines. However, the Central Government has not yet fully permitted the operation of international aircraft. The country has commenced operations with 23 countries in the Kovid-19 era.
