84 year old woman recovers from C0VID-19 at Ukhrul

For the second time a woman above the age of 80 in Ukhrul recovered from COVID-19, making her the second such patient to beat the virus in the district. According to Dr Reisangmi Medical Superintendent (MS) of Ukhrul District Hospital, Yorngamla Luikham (84) residing in Viewland, Ukhrul was admitted in the District Hospital at Hungpung on December 5 .
The patient was suffering from COVID- 19, with severe cough, difficulty in breathing and complaint of general body weakness.
Seeing her deteriorated health condition with acute COVID-19 syndrome, the patient was immediately rushed to the isolation ward and was kept under strict observation, constant monitoring and treatment by the doctors and medical staff, said the MS and added that the dedicated service of the health workers enabled her to recover in time.
After 12 days of medical treatment in the hospital, she tested negative after undergoing TrueNat confirmatory test yesterday. Dr Reisangmi went on to mention that all her vitals are stable and she is now fit and fully recovered.
She was discharged from the hospital yesterday. This is the second time that a patient above the age of 80 has beaten the virus in Ukhrul district.
In October Kuingaila Pheiray aged 93 yrs was also discharged from TK Woodland Covid Care Centre, Shirui village in Ukhrul district after she recovered from the virus.
Yomgamla has been advised to undergo another 7 days strict home quarantine.
