'Shakeela' is set for a theatrical release across five languages (Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada) on Christmas, December 25, with nearly 1000 seats, which would happen for the first time since COVID-19 lockdown.
The movie would clash with 'Coolie No 1', which would release on the OTT platform Amazon Prime Video.
The film is produced and presented by Sammys Magic Cinema Motion Picture Production and distributed by UFO movies.
It is based on the life of an Indian actor and model who worked in soft-p*rn movies. She was referred to as C. Shakeela and worked predominantly in the South Indian film industry.
Directed by Indrajit Lankesh, 'Shakeela' would talk about the actor's rise from rags to riches and her downfall. It is not widely recognized but Shakeela had given 150 back-to-back Box Office hits in her career before her downfall began.
