MSEDCL junior engineer among 3 arrested for bribery in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, Dec 22 (UNI) The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Kolhapur on Tuesday arrested three people, including a junior engineer, contractor and agent, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5,000 from a complainant at Kabnur village in the district.
The alleged accused -- Amol Balaso Kanase (junior engineer), Harun Latkar (contractor), who were working in Mahavitran office in Kabnur village and both residents of Ichalkaranji town, had demanded Rs 5,000 as bribe to provide an electricity metre for his new business and asked him to pay the bribe through their agent, sources in ACB said.
Aggrieved complainant informed about this to the city unit of ACB, whose team today laid a trap at Kabnur village and caught red-handed Kanase and Latkar and their agent while accepting the money from the complainant.
