Chennai, Dec 21 (UNI) With Asembly polls due in 4-5 months
time, a high-level delegation headed by Election Commission
of India Secretary General Umesh Sinha, arrived here today
on a two-day visit to assess the State's poll preparedness.
Along with Mr Sinha, the EC team also included Deputy Election
Commissioners Sudeep Jain and Ashish Kundra, Bihar Chief
Electoral Officer H R Srinivasa, Pankaj Srivatsava, Director
and Malay Mallick, Secretary, Election Commission of India.
An official release said the team will have a meeting with
representatives of recognised political parties, Income Tax
department nodal officers today.
The team would also have a virtual meeting with district
election officers and police officials.
Tomorrow, the delegation will have discussions with various
enforcement agencies and meet the Chief Secretary, DGP and
other State government Secretaries after which it will leave
for Puducherry to assess the poll preparedness in the Union
Territory.
