HIV awareness van flagged off

Amritsar: An HIV and AIDS awareness van was flagged off by Dr Lakhwinder Singh Athwal, SMO, Kalanaur, in Gurdaspur on Sunday. The van would cover Kalanaur, Sahle Chak, Shahur Kalan, Naranwali and Bhopar Saidan villages of the block. It would create awareness about precautions required against HIV and AIDS. Dr Athwal said the objective was to create awareness among the general public. He said a short film based on disease would be shown to the people of different villages. He said it was an attempt to remove all misconceptions in society. The health teams also conducted HIV tests on the spot. TNS
