We stopped when the milkman rang the bell at 6 am.” Also Read - Varun Dhawan on planning to take the No 1 franchise forward: No, it will always be known for the Govinda-David Dhawan-Karisma Kapoor trio
The actor added, “I pray to the lord that the world gets free from the ongoing pandemic and we all go back to normal in 2021." The remake of Govinda's iconic film Coolie No 1 is currently grabbing the headlines at the it will release on an OTT platform on December 25. Talking about it Varun Dhawan's comparison with Govinda, Jaaved Jaaferi told BollywoodLife, “Hollywood keeps doing remakes — Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Cape Fear, Tarzan and Dracula keep getting remade. It also depends whether you've made a good or bade remake. And why do you want to compare? Govinda was a great actor, he did a great job. Now, there's Varun Dhawan, he also has good potential, is a very good actor, he's doing his job. Varun Dhawan is not saying, 'I'm Govinda.' He's Varun Dhawan. If Varun Dhawan says I'm copying Govinda and I'm like Govinda and now you judge if I'm doing it better than Govinda, then it makes sense, right? Varun Dhawan may be inspired from Govinda, but he's brining his own touch to it. So, don't compare it, that's wrong. If people think that's better (Govinda and Karisma Kapoor's Coolie No. 1) then that's fair enough, it's their choice.” Also Read - Coolie No 1: 'Hollywood keeps doing remakes and Varun Dhawan is not saying I'm Govinda,' says Jaaved Jaaferi [Exclusive]
