The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended a Pakistani fisherman in Indian territorial waters on Saturday evening.

A statement from the 107 Battalion of the BSF station in Gujarat said that the fisherman was apprehended by a routine patrol near the Sir Creek area in Kutch at about 5.50 pm on December 19.

The BSF apprehended the 35-year-old fisherman Khalid Hussain, resident of Shahbandar in Sindh, Pakistan and his boat was seized.

Officials said that it was possible the boat had come into Indian water due to rough seas and low visibility.

BSF found nothing suspicious on his person or in the boat, just some diesel, a mobile phone, fishing nets and some crabs. However, a thorough search of the area is underway.
