THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state government has decided to convene a special assembly session to pass a unanimous resolution against the farm bill brought by the BJP-led government at the Centre. The session is likely to be held on Wednesday.
A special cabinet meeting, to be held on Monday, is expected to take a decision on this. The special cabinet meeting will request the governor to convene the special assembly session. The government is planning to hold the special session for one hour and pass a resolution rejecting the farm bill.
Both the UDF and the LDF are opposing the farm bill and hence, the government wants to pass a unanimous resolution against the bill. The UDF and LDF have decided to launch protests against the bill and in the coming days they have organised various protests in the state.
The state government had earlier stated that it will seek legal opinion on approaching the Supreme Court against the farm bills passed by the Parliament.
