No one wants to believe even if that 36-all out travesty was a bad dream.
The monumental collapse of India's much-reverred batting line-up in Adelaide has got the world talking since then and there have been plenty of suggestions, reports surrounding what should India do to forget that and come up trumps in the all important second test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, starting on Saturday.
Since Virat Kohli will not be featuring in the remaining games and Mohammed Shami being ruled out of the remainder of the series due to an arm injury, wholesale changes in the line-up are on the cards.
However, one potential change has irked the users on Twitter and netizens world over. Playing with only four overs, India were finding hard to give rest to their lead bowlers have getting them on for longer spells. With all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, now fit after the concussion blow he received in the first T20I of the three-match series, many expect him to be drafted into the side straightaway as the fifth bowling option, but at the expense of the middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari.
While many suggested Hanuma Vihari to open the innings in place of Prithvi Shaw, who looks to be sidelined after a couple of poor outings, instead of KL Rahul who was selected in the side based on his IPL exploits.
Most of the users referred to Virat Kohli's interview with Steve Smith where he mentioned that he was most looking forward to Hanuma Vihari, who has been a solid player for India in the Test matches for the last couple of years.
Many users also highlighed the fact that Vihari hit a century in the practice game and just after a couple of failures, he can't be dropped.
Here are some of the reactions:
Even I believe resting or benching Vihari will not be an ideal thing to do as he is a pure class and have always performed but one or two failures should not translate his entire career, he is a pure class!!

Hanuma Vihari shouldn't be replaced in 2nd test. His technique is strong. He is doing okay for the team he deserves more chances.

If @bcci opts Vihari out of playing XI in the second test it proves they are dumbest yet again#AUSvIND

Shubhman Gill should come at No 4 and Vihari should open with Mayank. Vihari should play to his strength i.e. defensive play to old down the new bowl.

Vihari must play.@klrahul11 should not play ahead of Vihari...In fact @ajinkyarahane88 is a bigger baggage who has silently managed to stay in the team(and now skipper) despite not earning his place...embarrassing...this is a talentless team! #AUSvIND

Vihari. A batsman with decent technique. Not sure he should be replaced. He is one for the future.

Those who r demanding his exclusion should remember #Vihari offered stern resistance in the 2nd innings even if that means for a short period! He has a 300 to his name in first class cricket which means he can bat for long, so let him stay n play at top! #INDvsAUS #INDvAUS pic.twitter.com/5AuFXlzf74

If u can give so many chances to the Flop Shaw(Prithvi Shaw), Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer...nd others.. Then why Vihari can't get one more chance... He has always proved to be a worthy technically correct test batsman. #Vihari deserves a chance.. pic.twitter.com/ZOtrlKjlHY
