Police arrest 2 PDP leaders,Mehbooba says arbitrary detention

Srinagar, Dec 21 (UNI) Police on Monday detained two senior leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in south Kashmir district of Anantnag, official sources said.

The leaders detained are Sartaj Madni and Mansoor Hussain, sources said , adding further details are awaited.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti reacting to the arrest of party leaders described it arbitrary detention.

Taking to micro blogging site Twitter, vice president of the Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) Mehbooba said “Total lawlessness as PDPs Sartaj Madni & Mansoor Hussain have been arbitrarily detained today on the eve of DDC election results. Every senior police officer here is clueless as it is ‘upar say order’. No rule of law in J&K anymore. It is out & out Gunda Raj."

Srinagar, Dec 21 (UNI) The first day of 40-day-long Chilai-Kalan, the harshest period of winter, brings some relief after minimum temperature witness more than two degree surge though it was still 2.5 notches below normal in summer capital Srinagar, where major parts of the water bodies, including famed Dal Lake remained frozen.

Chandigarh/New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) Amid the ongoing Covid-19 crisis and thwarting
adverse impact of the economic lockdown, the Indian Direct Selling Industry registered a
year-over-year growth of 4.70 per cent in the first half of FY 2020-21 i.e from 01 April 2020
to September 30, 2020, revealed an industry survey conducted by Indian Direct Selling
Association (IDSA).
