Chennai, Dec 21 (UNI) The Justice Aruna Jagadeesan Commission,
probing the May 2018 police firing on anti-sterlite protestors that left
13 dead in Tuticorin, on Monday issued summons to actor Rajinikanth
asking him to appear before it on January 19, 2021.
After the police firing, the actor visited the firing victims in Tuticorin and
also met the injured at the hospital.
Later, he had told reporters that some “anti-social elements had infiltrated”
into the protests leading to the firing.
He was earlier summoned to appear on February 25 this year. However,
he said since his appearance might cause public disturbance he said he
would give a written statement.
