01/6Some of the best practices to use a highlighter the right way
Highlighters can magically emphasize a particular feature on your face. Its light colour and sparkling pigments in the formula enhance your facial features in the most subtle ways. But many people get it all wrong and they either use a lot of highlighter on their face or use it on the wrong areas. Hence, we thought of listing down some best practices that you can keep in mind while using this make-up product.
02/6A glowy base
Always start with a glowy base from the very beginning. You can mix a drop of luminising liquid along with your foundation. Mix it well and use a damp beauty blender to blend the product all too well on your face. What a damn beauty sponge does is, it gives seamless coverage on the entire face and a lit-from-within look.
03/6Apply highlighter on the important areas
When you increase the pigment, make sure you apply the product only in the areas that you want to emphasize. Don't apply the highlighter all over your face. Less is more. Observe how light falls on your face under the sun and apply the highlighter only on the required areas.
04/6Avoid too much highlighter
This make-up product is meant to be lighter than your skin tone. It will add volume to the areas that you apply it on. Hence, be very cautious against using too much highlighter on the tip of the nose, the forehead, the chin and apples of the cheeks.
05/6Blend it well
Make sure you blend your highlighter properly and not hastily. On the cheekbones, you need to apply the highlighter in round movements so the effect looks diffused and natural. You don't want to have a line of highlighter next to your eyes, so make sure you blend in the product.
06/6Pick the right shade
When it comes to highlighting your face, you need to choose the right colour. It should ideally be two-three shades lighter than your skin. Pay attention to your skin colour and only then invest in a highlighter. The warmer your skin, the darker your highlighter should be. If you have medium to deep skin, look for peaches, oranges and copper tones. If you have a yellow or olive tone, preferably gold highlighters work better.
