Brazilian regulator grants licence for SES-17 satellite

Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) has approved a request from satellite operator SES to operate the SES-17 satellite in Brazil for a period of fifteen years, reports Telesintese. The new satellite will be launched in 2021 and will be located in the orbital position 67 degrees West. It will operate in the Ka-band and dispose of 200 high capacity directional beams (HTS), covering the Americas and part of the Atlantic Ocean.
