MYSURU: Chamundeshwari MLA GT Devegowda on Sunday alleged both former chief ministers Siddaramaiah and HD Kumaraswamy were responsible for the fall of previous Congress – JD(S) government as both did not make any efforts to prevent MLAs from their respective parties from defecting to BJP.
He was responding to both Siddaramaiah’s outburst and HD Kumaraswamy’s series of tweets after Congress’ Grama Janadhikara rally at Siddalingapura in Chamundeshwari assembly segment.
The JD(S) MLA said despite having information about the downfall of their government, former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy left to US while Siddaramaiah did not make any effort to prevent his MLAs from leaving his party.
“They could have saved their government if they had made efforts sincerely. Both former CMs are equally responsible for the collapse of the previous government,” he alleged.
Siddaramaiah contested and lost from Chamundeshwari assembly segment in the 2018 assembly election.
GT Devegowda however denied JD(S) and BJP had a secret pact in 2018 as the BJP candidate secured more than 15,000 votes in the electoral battle.
