End semester theory examinations at MIT, Manipal from Dec 21

MANIPAL: The end semester theory examinations of BTech course offered by Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) will get underway from December 21. While seventh semester examinations will commence on December 21, the fifth semester examinations will do so on December 29. The examinations will be held in morning and afternoon sessions with students from different branches appearing for them in the sessions as per the timetable given to them.
The institute has taken all precautions for safe conduct of the examination as contained in the unlock guidelines issued by the ministry of home affairs and other regulatory bodies. “MIT has taken all measures to ensure the safe conduct of the examinations keeping the prescribed Covid19 precautions in mind,” D Srikanth Rao, director, MIT said in a circular to students. Every person connected with the examination will follow the guidelines, he noted.
The circular advised students residing on MIT campus or in Manipal to appear for the offline examination that will be held every alternate day in two sessions. Students who are on campus and are unable to take the examination due to various reasons may appear for the examination through online mode, which will be conducted in January 2021. Schedule of this examination will be announced in due course of time, the director said.
The Institute also offered students appearing for the offline examination the opportunity to appear in the online examination next month for improving their grades. The SOP readied for these examinations are something in line with the SOP that the department of public instruction had adopted for conducting the SSLC examinations – be it in terms of social distancing, thermal scanning, wearing masks and spacing out students in exam halls.
